

Dr. Deborah O'Connell
Dr. Deborah O'Connell, founder of the Deborah O'Connell Women's Imaging Center, was born in Lima, Ohio and raised in Dublin, Ireland, where she attended medical school at Trinity College Dublin. She did her radiology residency at Case Western Reserve University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio and did a fellowship in computed tomography ultrasound with fellowship research interest in magnetic resonance imaging of the breast.
Before opening her own practices, she was with the Austin Diagnostic Clinic for 25 years. She established the first comprehensive breast center in Austin by teaming with surgeons and oncologists to treat breast cancer.
Dr. O'Connell believes in a personalized compassionate approach to women who come to her seeking advice on breast cancer conditions.
Dr. O'Connell is also a member of The Society of Breast Imaging and has served on the board of the American Cancer Society. She is a true advocate for women and the difficult choices they often face with breast cancer diagnosis.
Dr. O’Connell is married to an Austin physician.
Dr. Srilatha Joglekar
Dr. Srilatha Joglekar was born in India and raised in Iowa. She graduated from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and went on to complete her residency at Rush University Medical Center, where she stayed on for two more years to complete a fellowship in neuroradiology. She immediately went into private practice at the Austin Diagnostic Clinic, where she also had the pleasure of serving as a chairwoman for over seven years. She joined the RadMedx team in 2009.
Dr. Joglekar enjoys neuroradiology, but also has an interest in women's imaging; she is passionate about patient safety and the benefits of radiology.
Dr. Joglekar is married and a happy mother of two young children.
Dr. Gregory K. Bell
Dr. Gregory Bell, founder of RadMedx, was born in Beverly, Massachusetts. He attended medical school at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia and went on to complete his diagnostic radiology residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. Dr. Bell remained at DHMC to complete his fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology. Upon completion of fellowship training, Dr. Bell started private practice at St. David's Medical Center in Austin, Texas in 1996. Dr. Bell remained in practice there for approximately eight years and later joined the Austin Diagnostic Clinic, practicing there for over four years and leaving to found RadMedx.
Dr. Bell has had a special interest in women’s imaging since completing his residency and fellowship, and has been actively involved in the community promoting advanced womens’ imaging since. In 2000, he helped research St. David’s Medical Center's acquisition of the first digital mammography unit in Austin. In 2002, Dr. Bell was one of the first interventional radiologists in the United States to start performing MRI-guided, vacuum-assisted breast biopsies and needle localizations. Dr. Bell was the first to develop CT radiofrequency ablation for tumor therapy in central Texas, and recently brought MRI‑guided laser interstitial thermal therapy with MR thermography to our area.
In 2003, Dr. Bell was named one of America’s top doctors, and was made a teaching faculty member of Johnson & Johnson Ethicon EndoSurgery Mammotome Breast Care Team. In 2008, Dr. Bell was named Physician of the Month at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center. Dr. Bell has received additional training in performing MRI-guided high frequency ultrasound ablation of uterine fibroid tumors from GE InSightec.
Dr. Bell is happily married and father of two young teenagers.
Dr. Sina Meisamy
Dr. Sina Meisamy was raised in Austin, TX and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 2001. Dr. Meisamy conducted 2 years of high field MRI and MR Spectroscopy research in breast cancer at the University of Minnesota's Center for Magnetic Resonance Research. Dr. Meisamy has published 2 award winning papers in Radiology and is the only person who has won the Radiologic Society of North America award 2 years in a row. In 2004, Dr. Meisamy moved to Brooklyn, NY where he completed his radiology residency at SUNY Downstate Health Science Center and Kings County Medical Center. After receiving his radiology certification from the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Meisamy completed an MRI fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in July 2008. Dr. Meisamy enjoys mountain biking the greenbelts of Austin and playing with his wife and son.
Denise R. Furr
Women’s Imaging Manager
Denise was born and raised in Austin, Texas. She started working with Dr. O’Connell in 1993 at the Austin Diagnostic Clinic, following her in 1995 to open the Women’s Center at North Austin Medical Center, then returning to the Austin Diagnostic Clinic in 2001. She was also with Dr. O’Connell for the opening of the ADC Women’s Center in 2006.
She has a strong passion for women’s imaging and is very excited about starting this new venture with Dr. O’Connell. She feels it is important for women to have choices in choosing care for their breast needs and concerns.
She is married with three wonderful children and three precious grandkids.
sal Lieou
RT, RDMS Sonographer
Sal attended the University of Texas at Austin for 3 years and majored in Medical Technology. She received her degree in radiology technology and diagnostic medical sonography from Austin Community College, where she was Valedictorian of her sonography class. Before joining the Deborah O’Connell Women’s Imaging Center, Sal worked alongside Dr. O’Connell for more than 15 years in women’s imaging at the Austin Diagnostic Clinic and St. David’s Medical Center.
Passionate about her work and its responsibilities, Sal draws on her many years of experience in women’s imaging to provide patients with quality, personal and compassionate care.
Dominique Smith
RT(R)(M)
Dominique Smith is a native of northern Virginia who has lived in Texas for a little over a year. She served in the United States Coast Guard for three years and began her career in radiology in 1999 working as a radiology information specialist at her hometown hospital. She graduated with honors from Montgomery College in Takoma Park, Md. with an associate’s degree in radiologic science in 2005.
She has had the opportunity to train at several well-known facilities, such as the National Institute of Health, Bethesda Naval Medical Center, and Georgetown University Hospital.
She is trained in all aspects of women’s imaging, from screening/ diagnostic mammography to interventional breast procedures to bone densitometry.
Dominique is married to an Army soldier and together they have two young children.
Lexi Guerra
Radiology Coordinator
Lexi moved to Austin in 1996 to attend The University of Texas. In search of a career working with women’s health issues, she began working with Dr. O’Connell in September of 2001 and has been with her ever since. Growing up in a small town in South Texas, Lexi can’t remember a time when the need for more advanced women’s care has been of the utmost importance. After losing her mother (Blanca C. Guerra) to breast cancer, Lexi knows the importance of early detection and excellent breast imaging.
She has a passion for women's issues and community engagement.
Vijay Joglekar
Manager
Vijay Joglekar was born in Mumbai, India and moved to the United States after completing his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering at Mangolore University in India. He immediately began his Masters in Computer Science at Florida Institute of Technology which he completed in 1989. He began his engineering career with IBM as a software consultant and later obtained an MBA degree from St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas in 1997 and became a member of Delta Mu Delta, the MBA honor society. In 1999 he was invited to be an Adjunct Faculty member of the University. He continues in that role today and teaches in the MIS department including the Capstone classes for graduating seniors. He also completed the Executive Management Certification at University of Texas in May 2001.
In the early years of his career at IBM he focused on Software and Product development and later became involved with technical marketing where he managed a team of developers. Upon completing his MBA he also moved to the role of business development. He has tremendous expertise in leading acquisition teams (completed three major acquisitions for IBM), business development and contract negotiations, and has managed technical and marketing teams. He developed and promoted a marketing program that helped grow Server revenue by 300 million dollars in 2 years. His passion is business development. Vijay left IBM after 20 years at the end of 2008 after spending a year in marketing and managing a team to start his own business.
Vijay is a devoted fan of the University of Texas football team and has annual season tickets. He likes to jog with his Labrador retriever in tow. He is happily married and father to two young energetic children.
Kelsey Mayabb
Marketing Director
Kelsey was raised in Austin, Texas and attended the University of Texas. She graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development. She began a career in sales and marketing which carried her through many years of rewarding residential development experience. She served as Sales and Marketing Coordinator for two high-rise projects in downtown Austin, before moving to the Caribbean Island of Grand Cayman to work as a Sales Executive for the Residences at The Ritz-Carlton for a year beginning in August 2007. The opportunity to bring her marketing experience into the new realm of women’s imaging is exciting and treasured as more and more women in her life are touched by breast cancer. Kelsey is a proud daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoys traveling and writing – her first book was published in December 2009.
